EnglishCorrection — English Assessment & Language Services
Menu

We check tests before your students do.

EnglishCorrection independently verifies English-language test materials for schools, publishers, and course creators. You send the test; we return a findings report, a corrected version, and a certificate you can show to anyone who asks.

Not proofreading. We check whether the test is correct — the key, the distractors, the level — not whether your English is.

Audits from €0.80 per item · marking from €5 per script · certificate included

FINDINGS REPORT — EXTRACTOrder 2026-0611 · p. 3 of 9

Item U-14 · Use of English, Part 1 · Category 2 — Answer uniqueness

High severity

She suggested ______ to the museum.

A  to goB  goingC  that we goD  go

Finding. Option C is also grammatically correct (suggested that we go). Two defensible answers make the item unmarkable and open to appeal.

Suggested fix. Replace option C with to going, which is unambiguously wrong.

What an audit checks

Every finding in our reports is filed under one of seven categories, in this order. The numbering is the same one used in the report you receive.

The seven checks in detail
  1. 1

    Answer key correctness

Is the marked answer actually right?

  2. 2

    Answer uniqueness

Is a second option also defensible? The single most common flaw in amateur tests.

  3. 3

    Distractor quality

Can the item be guessed without reading the text?

  4. 4

    CEFR level calibration

Do the vocabulary and grammar match the declared level?

  5. 5

    Format conformance

Word counts, number of gaps, and task type against the exam part's specification.

  6. 6

    Language proofreading

Grammar, punctuation, unnatural collocations, US/UK consistency.

  7. 7

    Cultural appropriateness & factual accuracy

Content that is wrong, dated, or unsuitable for the classroom.

Who sends us material

Schools →

Language schools and secondary schools that write their own tests, and would rather find the flaws before a parent does.

Publishers & websites →

Course creators and publishers who need third-party validation of material they sell — with a badge to show for it.

Individual teachers →

Tutors who want one test checked properly. The €40 minimum order covers a typical 50-item test.

A certificate that can be checked

Every completed order issues a certificate with a public verification URL. Clients embed a badge on their own site that links to it — anyone can confirm what was reviewed, when, by whom, and whether the certificate is still valid. Unknown or revoked IDs fail loudly.

The certificate attests that an independent review was carried out. It is not an accreditation, and we say so on the certificate itself.
